Wharthogs cap undefeated season with title

With a perfect fall season on the line and revenge on their minds, the Wharton Rugby Football Club traveled to Phoenix, Arizona last weekend to compete in the 5th annual Thunderbird Rugby Invitational Tournament. The perfect fall season had been achieved over the previous months with big wins over local rugby clubs and in the inaugural Wharthog Invitational Tournament.

Business conference to showcase West Asia

The Wharton West Asia Conference is schedule to be held on Saturday, December 1st. The theme of the inaugural conference is "Arabian Sea to Mediterranean Shores: Transitioning Business in the 21st Century". The newest addition to Wharton Global Business Forum, the West Asia Conference was founded earlier this year to highlight business opportunities and challenges facing nations in the Middle East, Persian Gulf and Pakistan.

Veterans' Day talk highlights role of military history

On November 12, 2001, Professor Arthur Waldron delivered a Veterans' Day lecture on the importance of military history. Waldron, the Lauder Professor of International Relations, explored the intellectual reasons for the paucity of academic study of military history, traced his personal involvement in military history, and highlighted the implications of this lack of academic study.

Student aids microfinance community in Chiapas

This past summer I went with Wharton International Volunteer Project (WIVP) to Chiapas, Mexico to work with a local microfinance organization. I was located in San Cristobal de las Casas, a colonial town of about 100,000 people in the cloudforests of Chiapas.

SPIF recipients discuss their internship experiences

Every year, the Summer Public Interest Fund (better known as SPIF) enables Wharton students to pursue summer internships in public interest areas by supplementing their summer salaries. The SPIF fund is sponsored by other students, who voluntarily pledge 1% of their gross summer salary to help their classmates achieve their summer goals.
