In the midst of chants rising in the last rays of a Sabbath sunset, I marveled at the mammoth Western wall. As I found a spot for my note and placed my hand upon the ancient rocks, I was momentarily overwhelmed by the intensity of the historical and religious significance that surrounded me.

FT Ranks Wharton #1

In its seventh annual ranking of global MBA programs, the Financial Times recently ranked Wharton #1 in a tie with the Harvard Business School. Columbia Business School, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and the London Business School rounded out the top five, respectively.

DIP week deemed success by Career Managment

The recently completed Dedicated Interview Period (DIP) was a huge success and there is more good news for post-DIP recruiting. 109 companies recruited in Philadelphia during DIP, representing a 24% increase from 2004. The post-DIP recruiting trends are also encouraging, with 112 companies recruiting on-campus post-DIP; an increase of 13% versus 2004.

Wharton Fashion and Luxury Industries Club visits Mothers Work

On January 21st, members of the Wharton Fashion and Luxury Industries Club visited Mothers Work, Inc., the largest player in the maternity space, for an operations tour and a meeting with senior executives. Mothers Work, Inc. is unique in the retail industry in that all its core functional areas are housed within the same building [including distribution, merchandising, and even some manufacturing] that club members visited.

On Thursday January 27th, Yahoo China's CEO, Allan Kwan (Wharton-Lauder Graduate, '84), returned to Philadelphia and spoke to students about the challenges of running an internet portal in Greater China. Mr. Kwan discussed the dynamics of the region, the current growth prospects and strategy for Yahoo in China, and the value of the Wharton education and network.
