Rick Cohen (WG'74) to speak on empowering employees

You may not know his name, but Rick Cohen's company affects what you eat every single day. C&S Wholesale Grocers provides 53,000 food and nonfood items to 4,000 corporate customers, including produce, meat, dairy products, delicatessen products, fresh/frozen bakery items, health and beauty aids, candy and tobacco. Customer names you would know include Safeway, A&P, SuperFresh, Giant and Pathmark. The family-owned company has experienced an annual average growth rate of 19.6% over the last decade and its 2006 sales are projected to surpass $18 billion.

Wharton volunteers around the world

This year's WIVP contingent is the largest to date, with more than 70 members and 20 projects around the world in places such as Rwanda, Laos and Indonesia. Projects presented ranged from making a business plan for a hospital to capacity building for growth.
