Last month, we all had the opportunity to learn about a very special man. One year ago, the Wharton community lost a dear member. On that day, less than a year after receiving his MBA from Wharton, Dr. Joel Portnoy, WG'07, passed away unexpectedly from pneumonia.
His name's Ed. He's 43. I met him last winter in the city. Visiting my friends there. It was so cold this day. I remember how the wind could just go through my bones. Frozen knife. What was the name of the street? Somewhere between Locust and Walnut. You know? Nice place.
April 24th will mark the return of an old Wharton Tradition - Final Friday. On this day, the Class of 2009 will reunite with their cohorts for one last time before graduation. The cohort marshals, Kembrel Jones, and the former WGA Executive Board have been preparing for this special day, from ordering champagne for the cohort toasts to brainstorming questions for the cohort competition.
